About Me

My photo
I have two kids - a girl and a boy - and live in north-central Minnesota, land of snow and ice. Well, for 9 months of the year, that is. I work full-time for a local government, and on my "free time" I enjoy cooking, baking, hanging out with my kiddos, and RELAXING.

I'm an Awkward Person, Part 1

I'm kind of an awkward person. I often walk into things, or say stupid things, or do weird things in public. Fairly often I find myself in awkward situations. Maybe I'm not awkward. Maybe it's the rest of the world.

I live in a small town. Population 302.

We have one grocery store. It's a True Valu.

The shopping carts are not allowed outside, so the store provides a carry-out service.

I always find it incredibly awkward to have some boy follow me out to my car and put my groceries in it. I never know what to say to him. "Thanks for loading my groceries"? Usually I don't say anything and very frequently I do something slightly embarrassing like walk into my car door or hit my head getting in my car. Hence the awkwardness. I usually try to get groceries often enough so I can limit the amount and manage to carry them to my car myself. I try to avoid the carry-out boy at all costs.

I'm a very awkward person.
